RELIGIOUS SCHOOL KINDERGARTEN THROUGH 7TH GRADE

Our Religious School program transforms Jewish learning into an exciting and meaningful experience for students of all ages. Our creative and passionate teachers use a variety of interactive approaches to engage children and bring Jewish traditions, values, and stories to life. By making learning dynamic and fun, we inspire students to explore their heritage in ways that feel personal and relevant, turning “Hebrew school” into “Hebrew’s cool!”

We encourage students to attend as often as possible, understanding that every moment spent in our vibrant classrooms strengthens their connection to Judaism and our community. However, we also recognize the busy lives of today’s families and are committed to working with parents to accommodate different schedules and commitments.

Parents are an integral part of our program’s success, and we encourage open communication. Feel free to reach out directly to your child’s teacher with any questions or to connect about their progress. Additionally, our School Director and Religious School Committee Chair are always available to address any comments or concerns. Together, we can ensure a positive and enriching Jewish learning journey for your child.  Want to be more involved?  Check out our Parents’ Association here.

Curriculum

Our curriculum is divided into 5 main topics – Mitzvot, Holidays, Bible, Hebrew, and Israel.  Each year building on the year before.

Our lower school (K-3) focuses on holidays and traditions and works to inspire a love of Judaism in all our children.   Activities such as art, singing, and dancing are used to introduce Jewish concepts to our youngest learners and make the transition from school to sanctuary seamless.

First year students are honored in the fall at a Consecration Shabbat.

Our upper school (4 – 7) builds on the foundation that was learned in the lower school.  Focus shifts to learning to read Hebrew and begin preparations for becoming a B’nai Mitzvah.  Students delve deeper into both current event and historic topics and learn the greater meaning behind Jewish texts and holidays.  Our 7th graders study a unit on the Holocaust – we must never forget!

4th grade students receive a prayer book that they can use as they become more comfortable in the service and begin their B'nai Mitzvah training.
